With almost 20 years experience as a working photojournalist, I feel confident I can tackle any photographic assignment given to me. My experience is in breaking news, photo essays, portraiture, travel and sports photography.
Not only do I have a love for photography, but I am also an avid outdoorsman. Camping, hiking, and backpacking are some of my favorite things. During winter, my feet are on my board and I'm sliding down the mountain, tackling the more challenging terrain.
After years of roaming the country working for various news organizations, I now live in the Pacific Northwest north of Seattle in the town of Bellingham, Wash.
I've covered everything possible including sports assignments from PeeWee football to the Tennessee Titans Super Bowl run, general news from city elections to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, weather assignments covering everything from snow features to a tornado to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
There is no assignment too small, nor too big.
As well as being a freelance photographer, I am also a volunteer co-leader with the Seattle Smug Mug Users' Group I help organize the meetings, recruit guest speakers, as well as organize and teach workshops. We currently have over 1200 members averaging 100 per monthly meeting.
In addition, I teach photography workshops in the Bellingham, Wash., area. Whether you have a basic point & shoot or a professional level body, I can help you learn, and better understand, how to work your camera, lighting, lensing, exposure, and composition to drastically improve your photography. There are many options available. From a single session, to a week long workshop with follow-up critiques. Contact me for more information.
